Me, as a Photographer
I work as a producer (director/cameraman) for Japanese TV broadcasters and create various documentaries. In this role, I often get to know different places and people “in record time.” The pace of filming is always very fast, and the intention of what we want to express through our images is clear from the very beginning. “Speed” and “clarity” are essential in my profession. In my private life, however, I wanted to do exactly the opposite in order to change my perspective. With this in mind, I began using my old analog camera to observe moments and objects slowly, and sometimes out of focus. Through this approach, everyday life suddenly appears surprisingly different. My photographs are never digitally edited, following the principle of “one moment, one shot.”
